Pregnancy,s No2 sudden turn of events

Image
As i sit here this Tuesday 17Th May and have some time to reflect on the past months events i feel it is time to get some thoughts and feelings off my busy mind and also have them somewhere so i can look back on this time at a later date. Pregnancy number two has taken a turn for the worse over the last few weeks starting off in Roxby Downs with me loosing some of my Animonic Fluid and being rushed off to hospital. The hardest part with living in a remote area was the moment they turned and said "well theres nothing we can do until Monday when we have a Dr here that can do an ultrasound to find out if baby is still alive after you loosing this fluid" and that "we understand this will be a very stressful couple of days while you wait and you will be filled with anxiety so you will probably be more comfortable at home around family"....... Honestly what sort of practise is that!!! To put a pregnant mother through that and trust me those 2days were so long so so long. ...

A Glimpse into the second trimester of pregnancy no2

Image
Things are going along in such a rapid pace i feel i am going to get to the end of this pregnancy and not get enough time to be able to look back and reflect on what it was like and how i was feeling at the time. I am 23.5 Weeks and although it does seem to be taking a long time, being the second pregnancy and now having a toddler i quite often find myself forgetting i am even pregnant. But in saying that this little Ladybug is such an active baby, so much more so than Aaliyah was. Aaliyah was quite active as well but not like this. I constantly am feeling kicks and wiggles and wriggles and if i have my arm resting across my stomach i quite often get a good kick in my arm to remind me that "hey I'm a little ladybug growing in here get your arm off me " Last night for example Hayden held his hand to my tummy and she was kicking away flat out. He was just gobsmacked at how much he could feel and how fast she was kicking and wriggling around. Aaliyah was the total opposite ...

What in the World

Image
Today's post is about thoughts provoked by what is taking place around the world currently. There is so much devastation and loss.... So many things that i thought i would never see in my life time. Firstly starting with the flooding in Queensland and the loss of so many peoples homes lively hoods and most importantly lives. It was an eye opener to see what can happen without any warning. If we hadn't moved away from Qld our home would have been flooded and i hate to think what that would be like. You spend so long taking pride of home and surrounding yourself with processions and beautiful things that create your home. A home is filled with so many memories especially photos. Then came the Christchurch Earth Quake how could this happen to our beautiful homeland New Zealand... Its so close to home and to be down in Christchurch whilst in New Zealand and seeing some of the devastation was just mind blowing. So many places once visited and always familiar. Lost many of them fore...

10 Ways to have fun with a Toddler

Image
Find a field. If weather is remotely agreeable, I highly recommend taking your little person to the biggest, widest open space you can find and then just sitting in the middle of it. Your toddler can run, dig, chase balls, you name it, and you can mostly sit. Any type of large area will work, so those who are far from fields or snowed under can improvise. Dig out the kiddie pool. Yes, even if there are 12 feet of snow outside. Bring it into the kitchen, put a sheet underneath it and your toddler inside it and then put some buckets of strange things in there. Some ideas are dried beans, rice, dragon tears, polished rocks, packing peanuts and sand. Be sure to include scoops and empty bowls to mix up concoctions. You can bury little toys inside some of the containers for an added treat. Just be sure to watch toddler nonstop, so the goodies don't end up in her mouth, nose or ears. Make a mess on the carpet. This idea comes from Magical Mama Barb and is utterly brilliant:...

Childhood Memories

Image
Today's Blog is a Blog about great Childhood Memories that i wanted to share with you. Just a few that spring to mind are.... Going to my Grandads for dinner in Richmond and him making such yummy dinners then always making meranges for pudding but always adding a few drops of raspberry food colouring to the cream to make them even more appealing for us kiddies & Going out to Rabbit Island and relaxing in the sun as a family. Or playing in Grandads Aviary looking at all the different types of birds were in there. Going to Daelyns to pick fresh fruit with Mum whether it was fresh corn Cobb's then having them fresh with melted butter and lots of salt for lunch. Or picking fresh Raspberry's and Strawberry's and Boysenberries in our ice cream containers and then getting a real fruit ice cream at the end of the outing. On one particular day whilst picking Boysenberries i remember wondering off to find my own berries wearing a white dress i decided to lift the bottom of...

That sickening feeling

Image
As i type this i am in bed on a Sunday morning And if you no me well you will no that's just not me, i hate blobbing in bed wasting the day away. But today i have no choice my sickness has got the better of me. I was feeling much better and enjoying my 2nd Pregnancy having passed that horrid sickly first 9wks but low and behold the sickness has come back. As much as Ive tried to not let it affect me and carry on with my daily routine and do all the fun mummy things today it has me beat. I feel yuck an awful taste in my mouth teamed with gagging every few minutes and feeling rather dizzy and achy. I haven't been sleeping at all well catching just a few short hours a night even though i am so tired i cant sleep and it is becoming very frustrating. I wonder if this is still just (Morning sickness) or whether i have caught some kind of bug. Trying to get my dinner down last night was not a goer and as i write this the thought of it makes me gag. There was nothing wrong with the me...

The Decision

Image
With the decision having been made brings lots of questions worries and thoughts about how this will all work. The decision being Having a baby in New Zealand not Australia. Lots of things made us decide New Zealand but the main reason is realistically its the only way it would work. I cant live in Roxby Downs from 36wks as we have no Midwife here and nobody or the equipment required if a problem arose. So then comes the thoughts well what about Adelaide but i don't no Adelaide very well and its from 36wks what if i was to go 2wks over my due date. I mean the expense is one thing the idea of a possible 6wks paying for an apartment would be through the roof. Then theres the what would i do? Mum would only be able to take 2wks off work and with Katie working full time that wouldn't work with her either. And i would need someone with me in case there was a need to get to hospital quickly or for my appointments at the hospital, So Aaliyah would need someone to watch her. So really ...
